Gallery: Worn Again Virgin Atlantic Bags

We love seeing durable materials repurposed into sustainable solutions, which is precisely what UK-based Worn Again has accomplished with their new line of travel-worthy wares. Each aviation-inspired piece is composed of material reclaimed from vintage Virgin Atlantic airplanes, and they are handcrafted by small-scale workshops in portugal.

Entitled Worn Again, Anti-Apathy‘s design branch has made a name for itself by crafting accessories out of recycled materials that are aesthetically pleasing and relevant to everyday use. They have used everything from car seat belts to prison blankets to create an excellent assortment of shoes and bags that are worthy of a place be in every eco-fashionista’s closet.

Worn Again Virgin bags are constructed out of materials left over from the retrofitting of Virgin Atlantic planes – all of those seat covers and safety belts add up to a significant amount of material that usually goes to waste. The range will include the Ollie toiletry kit, the Lydia and Romero handbags and the Sherman messenger. Each bag is constructed by hand in Portugal using socially responsible labor. If you’re curious about a bag’s composition, just check its label for a complete list of materials used.

They are currently available through their website and in Terra Plana stores worldwide.
