Zoleco recently unveiled its extremely efficient Eco Exotic Sports Car, which utilizes an aerodynamic chassis and a 3 cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine to achieve 151 mpg at 45 mph or 91 mpg at 65 mph. This car is designed with a very lightweight body, and the chassis is race car-inspired with a chrome-moly full perimeter space frame and a hidden roll cage. The vehicle's impressive fuel efficiency will be further enhanced as the team discloses the results of their ongoing energy efficiency research, which includes a revolutionary new variable flow cylinder head design.
Zoleco ‘s goal is to use the least amount of energy while achieving the best possible performance. The Eco Exotic Sports Car ‘s aggressive curves make it look a bit like a retro spaceship, however this streamlined shape is the key to the vehicle’s impressive fuel mileage. The car’s drag coefficient is half that of an average small car, which results in an 82% reduction in fuel consumption without any changes to the engine. We’ve seen conventional car’s remodeled to increase their fuel efficiency in the past (Aerocivic anyone?), but it’s great to see a car built from the ground up for fuel efficiency. The Eco Exotic Sports Car will also take advantage of thermal energy recovery and regenerative braking to further increase its mileage. To top it all off, the vehicle’s interior can comfortably seat four people, making it a practical vehicle for everyday use.
