1 U.S. Gallon = +/- 3.785 liters

1 mile = +/- 1.609 kilometers

It means that 100 MPGe (MILES reached with 1 gallon of gasoline, not exactly energy) is equivalent to 42.5 km per liter, wich is not bad for a car if you compare with actual models.

I’m sure there’s a lot of inhabitt readers who are on metric system, I don’t know if it is possible to do the conversion at the moment of writing articles. BTW, lots of free converters are available on the internet.

Hope that helps too.

]]>Miles per gallon equivalent (MPGe) is the amount of energy generated by one unit gallon of gasoline. The equivalent is the amount required of a different fuel, to generate that same amount of energy. So for, for instance, you only need .88 gallons of diesel to generate the same amount of energy as 1 gallon of gasoline.

Hope that helps.
