plant wall design specializes in – you guessed it – planted walls, and they work together with architects and designers to create vegetal art to adorn both public and private areas. Designer Marie Christine Steffanetti and hydraulic systems engineer Laurent Corradi worked as a team to develop the company’s patented hydroponics automation technology, which allows plants to grow vertically. Their work can be seen in private home, restaurants, hotels, spas and stores across the globe, with a large chunk of their portfolio in NYC.
One of our favorite green walls by plant wall design was created for the Duggal Greenhouse at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. The plants appear to streak across the piece, giving it an immense sense of movement.
The vertical garden above is an example of why you need to look up in NYC if you want to see its hidden treasures. It overlooks Bedford Ave. in Brooklyn and can be seen from the street if you’re paying enough attention.
We hope these green walls brought a little splash of color to your cold winter day. Don’t forget to click through our gallery to see even more beautiful living art.
