Tricia holds a BS in Architecture from the University of Virginia and a Masters of Landscape Architecture from the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University. She has been teaching landscape design and drafting at the Landscape Institute at the Boston Architectural College since 1998. She has also worked for many years as a registered landscape architect on the South Shore of Boston. This year Tricia will be offering Design I: Process both as an online course and onsite course. In her approach to teaching, she draws students into the design process by abstracting design principles from art. Using landforms as the primary form and space generator, students explore themes of movement, passage, repose, and threshold.
“I strive to foster an atmosphere of collaboration and camaraderie among my students, so they are comfortable innovating and sharing ideas from their own and their fellow classmates projects.”
