Pletz’s FSC-certified wood lamps are both modern and timeless

Pletz is a Brooklyn Navy Yard-based design studio that crafts handmade modernist lamps. Founded by the husband and wife team of Aaron and Heather Schoon, Pletz strives to create light fixtures that are both modern yet timeless in character. Inspirational influences include the Art Deco movement and artists like Brancusi and Noguchi.

Pletz lamps are constructed from lathe-turned hardwood with solid brass hardware and natural linen shades. The lamps, which are all of limited production, are made from FSC-certified timber that’s finished with organic materials like shellac, natural linseed oil, and beeswax applied by hand.
