Vanessa Moreno of ooomydesign<\/a> created a tribute to the Eighties with her series of Cassette Tape Lamps. She took advantage of the cassette’s structural properties, simply tying the tapes firmly together to create a box lamp. The lamp dims the light in a soft, delicate way, and you can personalize it by switching the tapes for your own. Cassettes are being thrown away by the hundreds as iPods and other mp3 players take over; this is a unique way to save them and the environment by creating a range of products that give cassettes new life and new meaning.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
