SHoP Architects recently broke ground on their Dancing Towers complex on Manhattan’s East Side and we’re not surprised to hear that they might be considering adding some storm resistance measures to the building’s design. In an interview with The New York Times, a managing partner at JDS Development, the project’s developer, said that he might want to build eight-foot floodgates into the towers and install emergency power outlets that would still work in the event of a blackout.
