Are you a student who knows all the sustainable architecture buzzwords but has little to no idea how to apply those eco-friendly techniques on-site? You’re not alone. To help students better understand construction terminology, materials, and technical detailing, Wilf Meynell of Studio Bark and TRADA University Liaison Manager Liz Turner launched the 2015 Bark Live-Build, an eight-week student workshop to teach students how to design and build an eco-friendly building in England’s Norfolk county. To join, email Studo Bark a short 200 to 300 word personal statement. Accommodation and meals are free, however, students will need to pay for an £80 personal toolbox, including items like a handsaw and claw hammer, which they can keep after the workshop. Only eight spots are available. The deadline to apply is June 8, 2015.
