Design a Krakow Oxygen Home for a chance at a $10,000 prize fundNovember 4th, 2015

hmmd, homemade desserts, hmmd competition, architecture competition, Krakow, air pollution, Krakow competition, krakow oxygen home

As one of the oldest cities in Europe, Krakow draws in millions of tourists every year; however, it’s also home to some of the highest levels of air pollution in Europe. Studies have shown that Krakow’s smog is responsible for 30% of chronic obstructive lung disease cases and has been directly linked to the country‚Äôs high cancer rates. Homemade Dessert’s latest architecture competition, the Krakow Oxygen Home, combats the effects of the city pollution by seeking architecture ideas to help heal the hurting community. Proposals should be of a fairly small building that includes a community room with facilities such as a small library, play zone, and kitchen. The building should also include offices and first aid rooms where doctors can provide psychological and medical support to those dealing with lung cancer. A total of US $10,000 will be distributed amongst the top three winners. Registration ends November 4, 2015 and the deadline for submissions is November 18, 2015.
