Toronto, Winter Stations, Winter Stations competition, Toronto winter waterfront, The Beaches, 2017 Winter Stations,

Now in its third year, Winter Stations recently kicked off its annual international design competition for temporary public art installations to The Beaches, an event that celebrates Toronto’s winter waterfront landscape. Artists, architects, designers, and all other interested parties from around the world are invited to enter this single-stage competition. The temporary installations, which will need to be able to withstand the rigors of Toronto winter weather, will be built atop lifeguard stands and must follow the 2017 theme, Catalyst. Six concept proposals will be selected and the winning designers will be paid a design honorarium of $3,500 CAD as well as up to a $1,500 CAD travel bursary. The construction budget is limited to $10,000 CAD. The deadline for submissions is November 4, 2016.
