Calling all designers with a love of hiking—Bee Breeders’ latest competition seeks trekking cabin designs and is offering a prize pool of US $6,000. Created in collaboration with the Latvia Nature Conservation Agency, the Amber Road Trekking Cabins architecture competition is open to all with no professional qualification required. Proposals must include designs for a series of trekking cabins to be situated along the immense and beautiful Amber Road trekking path that spans the full length of Latvia near the Baltic Sea beaches. The cabin designs should be suitable for diverse terrain and take environmental preservation as well as Latvia’s heritage into account. Winners will split a prize of US $6,000 and the winning designs will be considered for construction by the Latvia Nature Conservancy Agency. The registration deadline is September 27, 2017 and the deadline for submissions is October 25, 2017.
