Design a sustainable community hub for Egypt’s Abu Ghaddan villageMay 6th, 2017

Did you know that nearly 70 percent of Egypt’s population lives in informal vulnerable districts? One such place can be found in Abu Ghaddan village, one of Egypt’s most neglected rural areas with over 1,000 inhabitants. To improve quality of life in the village, Hand Over and Man ahyaha teamed up to launch an international design competition for a new community hub. Open to students and fresh graduates worldwide, the contest seeks proposals for a sustainable and multifunctional community hub that caters to education, ecology, health, and community. Gift vouchers totaling 1,800 EGP will be distributed among the top three winners. The deadline for registration is May 6 and the deadline for submissions is June 16, 2017.
