This year the AIA Florida is sponsoring the Video-Arch: “ARCHITECTURE LEADING US TO A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE” Competition. Open to all, the purpose of this competition is to promote the creation of short promotional video clips that highlight the architect’s leading role in creating sustainable and energy-efficient environments, that have the potential to lead the state and nation to a sustainable way of being now and in the future. Participants may include, architects, urban designers, planners, engineers, environmentalists, videographers, students, (of all grade levels) including students studying architecture and the general public. Winning entries will be awarded prizes of up to $2,000.

$1000 first prize, 2 $500 honorable mentions


a. The Video must be either:
i. A public service announcement of A MAXIMUM of 30 seconds in length
ii. A longer piece not to exceed 180 seconds
iii. Each entry shall focus on one or more of the following five issues as they relate to Florida’s population of the future and architects impact on them: energy, water, public health, economics, or land use.

You enter the contest by submitting an original video of at least 30 seconds but no more than 180 seconds in length using the online submission process and in compliance with the Official Rules.

To make a submission go to the Video Contest page on the website, click on “enter video now,” and follow the prompts to enter your information. Make sure you read the terms before uploading your video. Your uploaded Video Submission, along with your completion of other information on the site, and submission of your entry fee constitutes your entry.

The entry fee shall be $30 per entry. Each competitor may submit as many entries as he/she wishes but must pay an entry fee for each entry.


The jury members shall include:
a. The chairman of the AIA Florida Cote Committee who shall serve as chair of the jury
b. The president of Florida AIA or his designee
c. A representative of an AIA Florida Component
d. An industry representative with video experience
