Gowanus Connections is a competition that invites designers to speculate on the urban development of postindustrial lands and the possibilities for dynamic, pedestrian-oriented architecture. They’re looking for ideas that either passively or actively engage with the canal and the surrounding watershed. The competition is designed to generate a spectrum of solutions that explore an array of design sensibilities while tackling complex urban challenges specific to the canal. The competition is open to anyone with an inspired idea. Submissions are due by May 27th.
