Ebola continues to wreck havoc in West Africa and is still spreading at an exponential rate. According to the WHO, the virus has infected nearly 4,000 people in Africa and over 2,000 people have died. In response, the student-organized group Habitat for Healing launched the M.A.S.H. Pad International Design Ideas Competition to generate ideas for a mobile therapeutic unit that could relieve the health crisis in West Africa and beyond. The mobile unit should provide an effective but comfortable environment for the patient and help prevent the spread of disease. Registration is free and the first round submissions are due January 19, 2015.
