The OPPTA Competition 2011-2012 is an international design competition looking for designs that can provide ‘Emergency Interventions’ for 5 sites in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru. These sites have suffered successive disasters, natural or anthropic, over the last two years with little remedy. Under the common theme ‘Emergency Interventions’, design teams are to propose a strategic solution to be debated. The winning teams will be invited to participate in a conference where they will publicly present their proposal. Multidisciplinary teams of professionals linked to architecture, landscape, urban design, urban planning, engineering, art, economy, geography, ecology and all the fields of knowledge related to the development of strategies and proposals regarding emergency states. Three winning teams will receive a prize of €2500 each. Entries are due April 16, 2012.

A maximum of 3 proposals will be selected per site. The jury reserves the right to limit the number of prizes if it is deemed that the number of quality proposals is not enough, depending on their evaluation criteria.
