Sleep 2014, the annual hotel design event in London, invites full-time architecture and interior design students from across Europe to participate in a hotel design competition. Titled the Sleep ReardonSmith Student Award, the contest challenges students to design a new hotel on an unnamed site located in a historic quarter of a European city. The hotel should be designed to four-star standards, include a variety of bedrooms types and facilities, and attract both business and leisure travelers. Entry is free and submissions must be submitted by Friday, October 24, 2014. The winner will receive a £500 cash prize and their concept will be displayed at Sleep 2014.

Entry is free

Students may enter individually or in teams of up to three.

A minimum of four and a maximum of six A3 presentation sheets showing public area and guestroom layouts as well as a visual of the façade

Two A3 concept sheets, one for a public space, the other for a bedroom, indicating proposed materials, style of furniture, facilities etc

Supporting text, maximum 400 words, explaining the design and how it meets the brief and the regulatory requirements as well as the expectations of the likely guest profile
