Do you have an innovative unbuilt project that has yet to see the light? If so, you may want to enter New York-based d3’s Unbuilt Visions, an annual design competition that recognizes excellence in influential projects still unbuilt. The contest accepts avant-garde conceptual and academic designs hailing from all disciplines that deal with the built environment. Three winners will receive $500 each, and all project submitted will be considered for publication in ‘UnbuiltVisions I’, the first volume in a series exploring transitions in unbuilt architecture and design. Registration deadline is December 15, 2014 with a $50USD fee per entry.

Three grand prize winners will receive US$500 each. All projects will be eligible for typology-specific special mentions.


Unbuilt work of any project type is eligible. The competition solicits theoretical proposals, academic studio work, thesis projects, and unbuilt client-sponsored projects including buildings, interiors, urban design, landscape architecture, industrial design, furniture, etc..


Theoretical, academic, and other unbuilt projects will be juried and awarded by a distinguished international panel of architects, designers, theorists, and historians.
