This September David Salisbury is launching a competition aimed at architecture, construction and design students to give the traditional image of a conservatory a shake-up by designing the conservatory of the future. The competition is open to any student in full time education for the academic years of 2012/2013 or 2013/2014.

The winner will receive:
+ £1000, an iPad and a profile on the David Salisbury website.
+ Feedback from a celebrity judge.
+ A body of work to add to their portfolio.
+ Experience of working to a brief.

Runner up students will receive prizes in the value of £250-£500, as well as being featured on the David Salisbury website


Students must email or post the following for entry:

+ A 3D graphic model of your design or detailed drawings.
+ A narrative of how this particular design will help develop and advance the clichéd idea of the conservatory.
+ A description of the practical problems you foresee and any constraints on design and the materials you have chosen.


A short list will be compiled by David Salisbury and his team of expert designers. The most innovative entries will then be judged by an award winning architect
