Each year, the Buckminster Fuller Institute awards $100,000 to support the development and implementation of a solution that has significant potential to solve one of humanity’s most pressing problems. This prize program calls upon the world’s artists, scientists, designers, architects, engineers, students, and entrepreneurs who are committed to playing a transformative role in addressing the biggest issues we face today. This year the Buckminster Fuller Institute is seeking visions that put forth what Fuller called a preferred state model – one that aims to design a set of conditions from inception in order to create over time, the most desirable, sustainable outcome. Entries to this year’s competition can span the spectrum of scale — from macro-strategies to community-based ventures — and they can also be in any part of the development stage. Submissions will be accepted up until April 12, 2013.
