Food scraps make up 17% of NYC’s waste but they can actually be turned into a useful resource of nutrients for the soil when composted the right way. Drop off your compost at the 92nd Street Greenmarket every Sunday until November 23rd. You can stop by any time between 9 AM and 1 PM to drop off any organic waste such as fruit and vegetable scraps, rice, pasta, bread, cereal, coffee grounds & filters, tea bags, egg and nut shells, pits, cut or dried flowers, houseplants and potting soil.
