In October, local merchants and artists decided to put a new spin on the outdoor experience by creating theBrooklyn Night Bazaar, an evening of outdoor shopping, culture, art, food, and music at the Dekalb Market in downtown Brooklyn. The evening was such a success that the Bazaar has returned for a three day stint in Williamsburg.
After nearly 5,000 visitors enjoyed the local food, art, architecture and design at October’s Brooklyn Night Bazaar, participants are ready to up the ante for December’s festivities — just in time for some holiday shopping. Organizers have called in big time architectural firm JDS/Julien de Smedt Architects to create a fun and interactive layout for the space. Renderings have revealed the plan for the 40,000 square foot warehouse on the Williamsburg waterfront will include an enormous half-pipe installation accompanied by light and video pieces by Greenpoint’s own art collective NBNY along the 30 foot walls and ceiling.
Brooklyn Night Bazaar will give locals and visitors a chance to enjoy a riveting and fun nightlife of food and music outside of the typical bars and restaurants that are so easy to hide away in during the winter months. Check it out December 15-17th from 5pm to midnight at 149 Kent between North 5th and North 6th Streets.
