EarthFair Indoors at Grand Central Terminal (April 21, 2011 – 12:00pm – 7:00pm; April 22, 2011 – 10:00am – 7:00pm; April 23, 2011 – 10:00am – 5:00pm): An exhibit area in Vanderbilt Hall featuring technological innovations, a Cooper Union photography exhibit illustrating the effects of hydraulic fracturing, previews of environmentally themed films, events focused on children and youth and a panel discussion on food and nutrition with and special movie clips.
EarthFair Outdoors Grand Central Terminal (April 22, 2011 – 12:00pm – 7:00pm; April 23, 2011 – 11:00am – 4:00pm): A two-day festival of art, music, and the environment on Vanderbilt Avenue from 42nd to 45th Streets.
Earth Day in Times Square (Friday, April 22 2011 – 11:00am – 5:00pm): Green Car show, speakers, and an interactive exhibit area.
CO2 E Drive: Green Vehicle Drive & Green Vehicle Fashion Show (April 22, 2011): The CO2 E Drive will begin from the Solar One building on 23rd Street and the East River at approximately 9:00am following an 8:00 am press conference with guest speaker Chris Paine, Director of Revenge of The Electric Car. From Solar One, the vehicles will embark on the CO2 E Drive route through midtown Manhattan. Environmentally friendly vehicles (electric, hybrid and bio-fuel) will paint a huge, virtual “E” on the streets of New York using GPS technology. Progress of the vehicles in form of GPS symbols will be shown on screens in Times Square (the painting).Following the drive, a select number of vehicles will arrive at Times Square (46th and Broadway) for a green vehicle runway presentation. The cars will remain in Times Square on display for the remainder of the afternoon.
