Lecture: ‘Green Metropolis’ by David Owen

Date & Time

START: 6:30 PM April 4, 2011
END: 8:00 PM April 4, 2011

Author and New Yorker magazine writer David Owen discusses the arguments behind his book “Green Metropolis: Why Living Smaller, Living Closer, and Driving Less are the Keys to Sustainability.” In this work, Owen champions Manhattan as the greenest place in the United States, where high density and mass transit translate to much smaller carbon footprint per capita, and calls it an urban sustainable model for the future.

The lecture will be held in Avery Hall’s Wood Auditorium, at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation.
