Moving Planet is a worldwide rally to move beyond fossil fuels. All over the world, people will take to the streets on bicycles, roller skates, skateboards, on foot and on any other sustainable form of transit they can dream up. The goal is to demonstrate to our governments that a global consensus has formed: we are ready for a world after fossil fuels.
In New York City, events will be taking place across all five boroughs. You can find a ride or march here. The marches will begin at noon and convene on the United Nations Dag Hammarsjkold Plaza at 2 p.m. for a rally. Top climate scientist Dr. James Hansen, a delegation of indigenous leaders from around the world, local climate leaders like Colin Beavan (“No Impact Man”), and other special guests will speak at the event.
