Introduction to Precious Metal Clay Workshop at Scosha

Date & Time

START: 11:00 AM May 14, 2011
END: 4:00 PM May 14, 2011

Scosha boutique in Williamsburg, Brooklyn is hosting an introductory workshop on precious metal clay. Precious metal clay (PMC) is made of tiny molecules of 999 fine silver (that’s pure silver, not sterling silver) mixed with water and an organic binder thus forming a clay consistency. PMC is totally non-toxic and can be worked like regular clay, dried thoroughly and fired with a small hand torch or the gas burner on a stove top. During the firing process the organic binder is burnt away leaving your creation in fine silver.

This one day workshop is an introduction to PMC3, focusing on the various methods used to create charms that can then be used for earrings or a pendant. Techniques used will include mold making, creating a hollow form, texturing, and attaching findings. The Instructor will work closely with the students to refine skills needed to create a fine silver charm.
Cost of 5 Hour Workshop is $100 plus materials ranging from $39 – $79
Workshop is for all ages.
