Out and Proud: Brooklyn Museum Target First Saturday

Date & Time

START: 5:00 PM January 7, 2012
END: 11:00 PM January 7, 2012

For the inaugural 2012 First Saturday party, the Brooklyn Museum is going gay. Titled “Out and Proud,” the evening will feature talks and performances inspired by its “Sanford Biggers: Sweet Funk—An Introspective” exhibit. A pair of eclectic Brooklyn groups, Navegante and Ninjasonik, bring high-energy music, while Kanene Holder performs a one-woman show about race in America. You’ll also be able to see 1990’s To Sleep with Anger, starring Danny Glover as an evil houseguest. DJs, curator talks and gallery tours round out this always-popular event.
