Panel Discussion: Can NYC Have A Wind Industry?

Date & Time

START: 7:00 PM April 14, 2011
END: 9:00 PM April 14, 2011

Description

Clean Energy Connections, a project by Solar One and NYC ACRE, presents a panel discussion on wind power in New York City. Wind is the fastest growing energy technology in the world, and New York State has the potential to install 8,000 MW on land and in its waters. That capacity for new clean energy is some of the largest in the country, but few in-state companies are capitalizing on this opportunity. Join experts and innovators as they discuss and debate what it will take for NYC to be a hub of the American wind industry.

Panelists:

David Bragdon, Director of the Mayor’s Office of Long-Term Planning and Sustainability

Ray Henger, CFO of OwnEnergy, Inc

Jonathan Milley, Vice President, Northeast Region, NRG Energy

Russell Tencer, CEO of Wind Products, Inc.

Tickets are $25 for the general public, and $10 for students, and must be purchased ahead of time.
