The Sakura Matsuri Annual Cherry Blossom Festival at the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens takes place on Saturday, April 26th and Sunday, April 27th this year. The two-day event is the culmination of the month long celebration of Hanami, the Japanese cultural tradition of viewing and cherishing the cherry blossom season. Tens of thousands of visitors visit the BBG every year to experience Japanese culture through music, dance, martial arts, food, manga, workshops and demonstrations, and, of course, the breathtaking beauty of the fleeting blossoms.
Hundreds of events will be taking place each day, ranging from taiko drumming performances and origami making to bonsai workshops and garden tours — there is sure to be something for everyone! You can view the full schedule here. Tickets are available online or can be purchased at the gate.
