Who knew you could go seal watching in New York City? The Bronx may have one of the best zoos in the nation, but nothing beats seeing animals in the wild. Every year, hundreds of seal migrate from Maine to New York during the cold winter months. They congregate in 26 different locations between Queens and Montauk, including Orchard Beach in Pelham Bay Park in the Bronx! Grab your binoculars and join the parks department for a “Seal Shore Safari” to watch the seals at low-tide. Make sure to bundle up — the beach is bitter cold during the winter!
