END: 6:00 PM May 7, 2011

The New School, Edible Manhattan, and GrowNYC/Greenmarket are teaming up to present “Shared Bounty: Connecting Local Agriculture and Urban Buyers,” an interesting and informative exploration of the food system. With a panel of experts, practitioners, scholars, and concerned citizens, they are offering an afternoon of conversations and discussions about connecting with the local agriculture. Topics will include how do we build stronger foodsheds between urban buyers and nearby farmers, as well as how we can implement new market relationships to change food systems at the local, regional, and ultimately at the national level.

The sessions will be followed by a keynote address by Carolyn Dimitri, the senior economist at the USDA Economic Research Service. Refreshments will be served. The event is being held on the 5th Floor of Wollman Hall at the New School. Enter at 66 West 12th Street.

General admission is $10. The event is free to all students and New School faculty, staff, and alumni with ID.
