Join Urban Green Council for a full-day conference examining the role of effective messaging in promoting green building. The conference presents a singular opportunity for the building industry to hear from advertising, journalism and marketing professionals on the critical subject of communications. Luminaries from these fields will explore how the green building community can successfully communicate about green issues among themselves, to potential clients and to the broader society.
The movement toward sustainable design has gained broad acceptance among the innovators of the building industry; the challenge ahead is persuading the mainstream to adopt green building solutions. Compelling the majority to action will require a very different set of communication tools than those that have been effective among the early adopters. Speak Green will explore the fundamentals of successful messaging and examine relevant case studies. Panel discussions will explore lessons learned, roadblocks to widespread adoption, and messaging strategies from a variety of perspectives. The day will conclude with a closing keynote speech by Curtis Ravenel, Global Head of the Sustainability Group at Bloomberg L.P. , and an early evening cocktail party.
