Join the 2(w)heels Collective and Cinebeasts on Saturday, August 27th for the second installment of the Wonderdonk Bike-In Movie Series, with a showing of the 1971 animated feature The Point, narrated by Ringo Starr and with music by Harry Nilsson. We will start the program with animated shorts from local filmmakers.
Taking place on the bucolic grounds of the Van der Ende-Onderdonk House in Ridgewood, Queens, the event is a play on the traditional drive-in movies of years past, but with a little twist. Participants are encouraged to walk or cycle to the location to enjoy a classic movie under the Summer night sky, and to bring your own picnic. Cafe Ghia and Barcey’s Coffee will be selling BBQ/other refreshments and the Bushwick Print Lab will be performing live screen-printing on t-shirts for $5 if attendees bring their own shirt. $5 to buy a shirt.
The film program will begin after sunset, at approximately 8:30pm (gates open at 7:30pm). The event will open with animated shorts by local filmmakers, and will be followed by the animated feature, The Point, about an unusual kingdom where everyone and everything is pointed.
