The Center for Architecture aims to improve the quality and sustainability of our built environment while educating the public about smart architectural design through exhibits, public programs, and special events. The Center’s goal is to encourage communication and foster productive exchanged between the city communities and and real estate, design, and construction industries. Three times a year, the Center mounts large thematic exhibitions and rotates monthly spotlight exhibitions the highlight current projects in New York City in its street front window gallery.

Designed by Andrew Berman, the Center’s beautiful building is the perfect setting to learn about architecture. Berman made ample use of natural light with high ceilings and by cutting a hole in the ground floor to let daylight flow into the basement levels. Keeping with the Center’s sustainability focus, the building is heated and cooled using geothermal technologies.
