Populated by some of most dazzling vertical architectural feats, New York City is the perfect place for a museum dedicated to skyscrapers. At The Skyscraper Museum, you’ll learn about New York’s rich architectural history and and the forces and designers that have shaped its storied skyline. The museum examines skyscrapers as objects of designs and products of technology. Design by SOM Architects, the museum’s permanent home is located in Battery Park, with views of the downtown skyline and New York Harbor. Look out for the upcoming exhibit of skyscrapers created in the 21st century, opening July 2011. General admission is $5, $2.50 for students and seniors.
