This year’s Ethical Fashion Show Paris will be showcasing innovative designs from all over the world; European designers make up a good half of the show, but Africa, Asia and South America will also be represented. Taking place at the Carrousel du Louvre on Thursday, September 6, 2012, 50 companies will feature their ready-to-wear and accessories collections. Some labels showing will be IOU Project (Spain), Deux Filles en Fil (France), Gleny Castro (Peru), Sammy Ethopia (Ghana) and Ankyra by Priyanka Kakkar (India). The Berlin Upcycling Fashion Store will be setting up a pop-up shop featuring  Austrian and German upcycling designers, such as MILCH.

Because this year’s show is focusing on innovative and technological designs, the show will be honoring two designers: Tanya Heath and Dahea Sun. Heath has designed the first shoe that can transform from a flat to a platform to a stiletto with just one click. With interchangeable heels, Heath’s design is a first in the shoe industry. Dahea Sun‘s design is also just as customizable. Sun has designed a collection that changes colors with the rain’s pH level. Her “Rain Palatte” collection is made from cabbage-based dyes that react to the rain’s different acidity levels.

The Ethical Fashion Show Paris has partnered with up the UIT, a French textiles union, to hold round table lectures to educate businesses about various sustainable topics such as safe chemical use and international social standards.
