Miguel Adrover is more than a talented and world-renowned fashion designer. He views fashion as a medium for social messages. In his first New York runway show, his motto “deconstruction-reconstruction” was articulated in the emblematic “I Love NY” T-shirt, now part of the Metropolitan Museum of Art collection as well as his anti-label reconstructing of a Burberry raincoat, a Louis Vuitton bag and the Ralph Lauren Polo symbol.
His masterful tailoring as well as his unique vision captured the attention of the fashion press as well as the most important stores in New York, London and Paris. In June 2000, he won the CFDA award for best new designer.
A native of Majorca, Adrover took a hiatus from the world of international fashion shows after 2003, but has been actively involved in exploring the relationship between fashion and the arts, being part of exhibitions at the Bellevue Art Museum of Washington, the Museo Reina Sofia in Madrid, The Victoria and Albert Museum in London and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
In 2007, Adrover became the Creative Director of Hessnatur.
