Syuzi is an experience designer whose work investigates the intersection between code, cloth, and culture. Her design and research interests include wearable technologies, physical and soft computing, and interactive textile design.
Her thesis, titled "SparkLab," investigates the intersection between culture, technology and craft. Her designs explore and encourage ludic activities that whet curiosity, celebrate the quirky and speculative, and reflect personal experiences and cultural narratives.
Syuzi's projects have been exhibited at various conferences and events including Eyebeam, the Fashion Future Event, South by Southwest, Maker Faire, and Emerging Technologies Conference.
In 2008, Syuzi published Fashioning Technology: A DIY Intro to Smart Crafting (O'Reilly), which explores the emerging creative practice of soft circuits and soft technologies.
Currently, she is working as a freelance media and interactive designer consultant and is the founder and editor of Fashioning Technology, a blog about wearable technology.
She received her B.F.A. from U.C. Berkeley in literature and her M.F.A. in media design from the Art Center College of Design.
