Emma Watson may have amassed a fortune £26 million by the tender age of 23, but you won’t catch the former Harry Potter star blowing it on wall-to-wall Louboutins. Watson, who plays teen burglar and society wild child Alexis Neiers in The Bling Ring, claims to own only eight pairs of shoes—a far cry from the 20 pairs a 2011 survey attributed to the average U.K. woman. “It’s almost like consumerism as a form of kleptomania,” Watson told the Radio Times. “I’ve got about eight pairs of shoes and that’s it. But it’s easy for me to sound like a total hypocrite because, of course, I’m dressed in designer clothes right now.”

Watson, who filmed scenes in hotel heiress Paris Hilton’s real-life walk-in closet, found the abundance of clothes and accessories eye-opening. “She could never wear all of those clothes and half of them were brand new and still had the price tag on,” she said. “But I suppose she just bought them to have them. We’ve all bought things on impulse, but that’s an entirely different thing.”
