The Slow Fashion Award broaches the issue of the latest and sustainable textile design and development. This year’s theme is “Linen and Nighties.” The first step of the competition includes the naming of 10 finalists by a professional jury. The chosen designers can look forward to some great perks, such as the presentation of their pieces at numerous design- and culture- events and support for both production and marketing. Judges include designer Kirsten Brodde; Thomas Geisler of Vienna Design Week; Michaela Knieli from Environmental Consulting Viennal Andreas Oberkanins from Unit F, Designer Support; and Claudia Sprinz of Greenpeace.

Among the prizes are €10,000 in cash, courtesy of Lenzing Textile, a one-week-stay in a BIO-Hotel for two, and distribution coaching/market launch in Austria from Slow Fashion AO.
