Now that her 10-year tenure as Harry Potter’s Girl Friday is drawing to a close, you can hardly fault Emma Watson for entertaining a future that involves neither witchcraft nor wizardry. The British thespian, former Burberry clotheshorse, and sometime People Tree designer is collaborating with Italian designer Alberta Ferretti on a sustainable clothing line, according to US Weekly. “We are doing an organic clothing range,” the 20-year-old tells the magazine. “I can’t reveal the name yet but there will be more information about it soon.”

Ferretti approached Watson after learning about the actress’s organic and fair-trade People Tree collection. “She wrote to me and said, ‘I saw what you did with People Tree and I think it’s a great idea and will you do something with me?'” Watson recounts.

The Watson-Ferretti line will draw its inspiration from English actress and Hermes bag namesake Jane Birkin.

The Watson-Ferretti line draws its inspiration from English actress Jane Birkin, who is forever immortalized as the namesake of Hermes’ Birkin bag. The clothing will be “very classic, ’60s Jane Birkin,” says Watson.

While it’s a no-brainer for a budding designer like Watson to link names with someone who has long honed her craft, the fashion-forward ingenue reveals she isn’t picky when it comes to potential collaborators. “I will put it out there that I will work for anyone for free if they are prepared to make their clothing fair-trade organic,” she says.

In other words, no magic required.
