Start any makeup look by moisturizing your face with an all-natural moisturizer or face serum. This way, the makeup will go on much smoother and blend better. Serums are great because they’re usually made with only natural ingredient. Plus, they absorb quickly into the skin and give you a nice glow.
Next, apply a liquid foundation to your face using your fingertips or a damp sponge. Apply it evenly all over your face to even out the skin tone. Dab some concealer underneath the eyes and on any imperfections. Vapour Organic Beauty Atmosphere Soft Focus is one of my favorite liquid foundations. It’s infused with vitamins and antioxidants that nurture your skin without any chemicals.
Start your eye makeup by applying a warm brown eye shadow onto your eyelids and blend it up and out towards the crease. Repeat until you get the desired effect. Use the same eye shadow and gently smudge it into the lower lash line using a thin makeup brush. I love Josie Maran Cosmetics Argan Eye Shadow in “Cappuccino”—it’s easy to blend and long lasting.
Next, line the inside rim of your eyes using a dark brown eye pencil. I like using Jane Iredale Eye Pencil in black/brown. It’s very soft and won’t pull on your skin. Bonus: It’s also loaded with natural waxes and conditioning oils that are gentle enough for your delicate eye area.Curl your lashes and sweep some black mascara onto both your upper and lower lashes. Gabriel Cosmetics’ ZuZu Luxe Mascara is one of my favorites. It’s enriched with vitamins and extracts that protect the lashes and encourages growth.
Add some color to the cheeks by applying a soft pink gel or cream blush using your fingertips. Apply the blush on the apples of your cheeks and blend outwards for a soft and fresh finish. A great blush is Tarte Cosmetics’ Natural Cheek Stain in “Flush,” which is packed with antioxidants and vitamins to coddle your skin.
Last, apply a dark berry lip color to your lips with a thin lip brush. (Tip: Using a lip brush not only results in a more precise application but it will make your lip color stay longer.) Gabriel Cosmetics’ lipstick in “Currant” offers a beautiful shade that also happens to be completely gluten- and lead-free.
