Earth Day may have heralded the release of Avatar, the top-grossing movie of all time, on DVD and Blu-ray, but James Cameron and his wife, Suzy Amis Cameron, were still feting the planet a day later with a fundraising eco-fashion show and auction. Featuring eco-savvy designs by Jeff Garner of Prophetik and 16 student designers from Michigan State University, "Southern Shores" concluded with an auction that rustled up a hefty chunk of change for Amis Cameron's nonprofit organization, MUSE Global.

For Suzy Amis Cameron, wife of Avatar director James, tossing on a sustainable Oscars gown by Michigan State University student Jillian Granz was only the beginning.
On Friday, a day after the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, the Camerons invited 16 MSU student designers to join them in Nashville for “Southern Shores,” a fundraising eco-fashion show and auction headlined by Jeff Garner of Prophetik.
Featuring frocks made from plastic bags and repurposed textiles, the show culminated in an auction of the pieces, with proceeds going to MUSE Global, an initiative of the progressive nonprofit school that Amis Cameron founded with her sister, Rebecca Amis.
