Come 2012, the apparel brand will create roughly 5,000 units of product per year with the women of Afghanistan, with the goal of 15,000 by 2013. Under the creative direction of Kate Spade New York, Women for Women International will provide training in embroidery, knitting, weaving, and beadwork.

For fall, Hand in Hand offers a line of cozy accessories, hand-knit by women in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Lending your support to the project is the easy part. “By purchasing pieces from our Hand in Hand collection, you directly drive demand” says the label, “enabling us to hire more women and enable them to rebuild their lives and their communities.”
