They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and thanks to these crazy new sunglasses from Lady Gaga, so is a camera that snaps pictures. At the Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas on Thursday, the envelope-pushing songstress and Polaroid unveiled a set of edgy eyewear that doubles as a bona fide 12-megapixel camera. Sounds like covert ops wear, right? Well, sorta. Each pair of GL20 Camera Glasses includes twin 1.5-inch OLED screens that play photos and video for whomever you’re gawking at. Not exactly clandestine, but hey, when you’re a star, you have to let it show!

Part of a new suite of Haus of Gaga-approved “Grey Label” products, the cyber-shades are a riff of the unforgettable sunglasses Gaga donned in her “Poker Face” video. You can even recreate the same swirly Magic Eye art with Polaroid’s version. Photos and video are stored in a memory chip that’s embedded in one of the earpieces. The earpiece can be removed and connected to a PC via USB or transferred to a printer using Bluetooth.

“I consider myself to be a visionary, not just a songwriter and a singer. I am an artist,” says Gaga, Polaroid’s freshly minted creative director. “I brought my vision and love of fashion, technology, and obsession with the future into all of my work with Polaroid.”

While many of Gaga’s past contributions to the fashion world have been a little…ahemhard to stomach, these high-tech specs are actually very wearable. (You can, in fact, see out of them.) In fact, we won’t be surprised if we see every other high-schooler in the nation sharing their photos in real-time with these shades this time next year. The GL20 Camera Glasses will be available later this year, at a price that is still being determined.
