The Woolly Big Text Auction couldn’t be simpler. Entrants just have to text the relevant designer name along with the amount they want to bid in British pence to 78484. They give an easy to follow example: if you want to bid £1.26 on the Burberry jumper you would type in the word BURBERRY, then leave a space, then type in the number 126 and text it to 78484.

The auction is designed to celebrate Christmas Jumper Day which, case you hadn’t already heard, is just a few of weeks away. So the competition is open already and will run until November 30. Entries each cost £1.50 (around $2.20) plus your standard network rate and 84p from every entry will come to Save the Children. Take a look at the website for more details and the full gallery of designer sweaters.
