“Gluten-free denim?” we hear you scoff. “What a ridiculous notion!” Turns out, the label is a bit of a humbug—jeans aren’t made from wheat, after all. But Naked & Famous’s Whole Foods-esque offering does have a few things going for it. For one thing, it’s one of the company’s “most sustainable” jeans yet. Made in Canada, the selvedge jeans comprise 100 percent unbleached organic cotton from Japan that’s been dyed using natural, plant-derived indigo. Plus, that leather-like patch on the back is actually heavy cardboard that only looks and feels like the animal stuff. The pants come in two cuts: the tapered “Weird Guy” and slim-fitting “Super Skinny Guy.” Celiac disease or not, we can recommend neither of these for eating.
