The New York City Fair Trade Coalition (NYCFTC) is hosting a sneak peek event March 29 to build awareness for Fair Trade Fashion’s Night Out, a highlight event at next September’s Fashion Week in New York.
What: Fair Trade Fashion’s Night Out Sneak Peek featuring local mission-based sustainable designers, manufacturers and retailers.
Where: Arcadia, 228 8th Ave (between 21st/22nd St. ) in New York City.
When: March 29, 2011, from 8-11 p .m.
VIP event for press, businesses and retailers begins at 8 p.m.
Fashion show starts at 9 p.m.
“Fashion can be more beautiful, relevant and resonant when it’s responsibly sourced and manufactured,” says Pamela Alimurung, NYCFTC Chairperson. “That’s the real story of sustainable and fair trade fashion: understanding that the garments you wear are part of the global solution to issues like poverty, education and global warming.”
Fair Trade Fashion’s Night Out in September will feature brands such as Itzso, Ahkun and Proxy Apparel.
