Fashion Girls For Japan is proud to bring back the 60+ Desigers/60+ Rolling Racks designer sale in support of the recovery and relief efforts of the March 2011 Japan earthquake and tsunami disaster. The sample sale will benefit Japan Society?s Japan Earthquake Relief Fund, and Home for All Foundation by KISYN, a Japan-based organization founded by renowned Japanese architects Toyo Ito, Riken Yamamoto, Hiroshi Naito, Kengo Kuma and Kazuyo Sejima, whose mission is to build communal gathering spaces for the displaced.
More than 60 New York-based designers have come together, some creating exclusive items for this special sale, and pledged to donate one rolling rack of their clothing and accessories for this charity event. This year, the sale will include menswear, as well as accessories and jewelry, and all items will be offered at 50 percent or more off the retail price. As before, 100 percent of the proceeds will go towards Japan?s reconstruction and recovery efforts.
Last year with the help of Alexander Wang, Altuzarra, Diane von Furtstenberg, Doo Ri,Prabal Gurung, Proenza Schouler, Thakoon, Thom Browne, VPL, Zero + Maria Cornejo, and many others designers who contributed, FGFJ raised approximately $275,000. A donation-based admissions fee can be purchased online or at the door.
